A: Treat the day of your tattoo like a self care day! Take a nice shower or bath, wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing, have a nice meal and drink plenty of water throughout the day. If possible, try to schedule as few other appointments as possible (nothing makes a tattoo more stressful than needing to rush out and risk compromising your tattoos quality) because the nature of tattoo means things may take a bit longer or a bit shorter than expected.
Q: This is my first tattoo. Will it hurt?
A: Short answer, Yes. Long answer, Yes, but everybody’s pain tolerance is different. The body part you want your tattoo on plays the biggest factor but the pain can also be lowered or heightened depending on so many outside factors. Talk to your artist! They’ll be able to give you the best answer.
Q: What should I bring when I get tattooed?
A: - A bottled drink! Preferably water or like, a Gatorade maybe (we do not allow alcohol in our shop during business hours. No exceptions) - Your ID (drivers license, photo ID or a passport are all good to use for this!) - A friend if you feel like it. But only one friend. Having a whole group of people standing around isn’t fun for your artist and in our experience, will probably stress you out more too. - If this is your first time talking to an artist about your design, have some pictures ready to pull up on your phone in an easy to find folder if you have references already of ideas you like. It’s super awkward for both parties when you’ve gotta wait to scroll through five minutes of photos to find the pic you saved two months ago. Trust us. - Don’t bring children under 16 in with you. Some of us are potty mouths. Sometimes people are talking about their nipple or genital piercings in great detail. And also little kids have a very hard time sitting still and keeping hands off of sterile items and such. Prepare in advance to get a babysitter if you need one. - Don’t bring alcohol, weed or other such things to the studio please. Don’t come in if you’re intoxicated. Not only do these things affect the quality of your tattoo but our clients and artists deserve a space that doesn’t tolerate intoxicated individuals. - Don’t bring pets. Like really don’t do it. Service animals are welcome but pets and emotional support pets are not allowed for any reason.
Q: How do I take care of my tattoo?
A: Your artist will provide both verbal instructions as well as a digital instruction booklet that we’ll provide to your email or text. Our aftercare is available in both English and Spanish so feel free to ask for whichever you need!
Q: Do I have to put down a deposit for my tattoo?
A: If you’re scheduling a tattoo to be done at a later date, yes. The deposit price is always subtracted from the final price and is not an additional cost. The price of your deposit will depend on your artist and their individual practices.
Q: how old do I have to be to get tattooed.
A: 18. Yes, even if you have parental consent. We do not tattoo under 18 for any reason.
Q: What happens if I’m late to my appointment?
A: Please contact the studio or your artist directly! If you’re late or can’t make it for any reason don’t feel bad! As long as you can give your artist a text or call we can reschedule you. But it really stinks to setup and be ready for a tattoo and to sit around waiting for a client to show up and then get a text days later apologizing for missing an appointment. Giving us even 5 minutes of a heads up is appreciated so much.
Q: What is the shop minimum
A: 100$, this covers all supplies used the artist time and services. This also allows us to make sure you have the best experience possible!
